Abstract

1,113,246. Husking grain. H.-J. FRITZE. 3 Dec., 1964 [3 Dec., 1963], No.47797/63. Heading A2Q. A process for husking grains (e.g. oats) to produce undamaged kernels comprises spraying atomized water by devices 8 on cleaned grains as they .are fed along troughs 1 by worm transport devices 2 to give grains a. moisture content of 17-21%, and placing the grains in a wooden silo for 24 to 72 hours where natural organic .growth of the kernels takes place thus loosening the husks, which are then easily remover from the kernels.
