Abstract

534,330. Treating seeds with radiations. HOMMEL, G. W. Oct. 6, 1939, No. 26013/38 [Class 1 (i)] Seed grain is treated with visible and ultraviolet radiations under vacuum and at a temperature which effects the drying of the material without destroying its food value or germinating properties, preferably below 45‹C. The treated seeds are stored in airtight silos under reduced pressure or in an inert atmosphere such as nitrogen. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 294,502, [Class 1 (i)].
