In a system for computing a pulse-rate signal from two input signals A and B, input B, represented by a coded signal, is increased or decreased by a constant amount, the result being multiplied by input A and the result of this being adjusted by a further addition or subtraction. In the particular embodiment, input A, represented by a frequency-significant pulse train, is fed to a binary counter. A " variable " portion of the input B, represented by coded signals on ten lines, gates the outputs of corresponding selected counter stages through a common delay to adder (OR-gate) and subtractor circuits, the other inputs of which receive similar signals gated from the counter under control of a " constant " portion of the input B. The system may be used for weighing material on belts (A being belt speed and B being weight) or measuring liquid mass flow rate (A being volume flow rate and B being density), the outputs going to counters.
