Abstract

1,112,571. Collapsible boxes. T. P. WHITEHEAD & SONS Ltd. 13 Nov., 1964 [16 Nov., 1963], No. 45343/63. Heading B8P. A collapsible case or box made of thin wood, and having its sides hinged together has the lid and the base separate from the sides, projections on the lid and base snapping into rebates on the inner faces of the sides. The sides 1 are hinged together by soft metal corner strips 2 enforced by corner-pieces 3 and have the rebates 4 on their inner faces near to and parallel to their top and bottom edges. The engagement of the projections in the rebates is sufficient to allow the case to be filled and lifted without support to the base. The lid and base may in addition be secured by nails if so required by regulations.
