Abstract

1,112,530. Fludised bed drier; heating ganular material. W. GLATT. 10 June, 1966 [14 June, 1965], No. 26091/66. Headings F4G and F4U. A container 9 for use in a fluidized bed drier for pulverulent or granular material comprises a floor having openings of which the axes towards the centre of the floor are at a greater angle to the central longitudinal axis of the container than the axes of the openings at the peripheral edge so that an upwardly flowing current of hot air passing therethrough has a higher axial component of velocity at the peripheral edge of the container than at the central axis. The container is of truncated cone shape within an outer casing 1 between a lower inlet 5 and an upper air filter 5 and fan 12, and the container floor comprises a cone arranged centrally with openings therein which are parallel to the remainder of the floor. A spray 19 may be mounted above the bed for the insertion of a treatment medium.
