Abstract

111,236. Heaslet, J. G. April 20, 1917. Timing.-The ignition timing mechanism is connected with the throttle so that the spark is retarded when the gas admitted exceeds a predetermined amount. The timer cam 54 is driven from the engine through a centrifugal device such as masses 51 linked to boss 58 of the cam 54 and drawn together by springs. The supports 42, 38 of the contacts 41, 39 are mounted on a disk secured in the casing 19 which is provided with an arm 21 for linking it with a bell-crank lever or. the shaft of the butterfly valve in the induction pipe.
