Abstract

1,111,075. Fuses. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 27 Feb., 1967 [20 May, 1966], No. 22546/66. Heading H2G. A fuse comprises an insulating board 11 having on one or both faces thereof a layer 12 of conductive material shaped to define a pair of spaced terminal portions 13, 14 interconnected by a fuse portion 15, the board being so shaped that the fuse portion is supported on a neck 17 of insulating material of substantially the same length and breadth as the fuse portion itself. The neck 17 is defined by two substantially semi-circular cut-outs 16 adjacent opposite edges of the fuse portion. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown), the fuse portion lies adjacent one edge of the board, so that only one cut-out (16) is required. Distortion of the board and fuse portion due to heat generated in the fuse portion, is minimized by this arrangement.
