Abstract
1,109,596. Shutter delay mechanism. PENTACON DRESDEN KAMERA-UND KINOWERKE VEB. April 28, 1966, No.18640/66. Heading G2A. The mechanism is described in connection with a two-curtain type of shutter, the running-down of the second curtain to terminate the exposure causing a pinion 7 to rotate a gear-wheel 8 in the direction of the arrow. The wheel 8 carries a pin 6, and the running-down is blocked by a pawl 2, pivoted on a spindle 1, and drawn by a spring 4 in the same direction as in which it is attracted by an electromagnet 3. When the electromagnet is energized, the pawl 2, which forms the armature, is held against it so that the pin 6 latches into a groove 5, and further movement of gearwheel 8 is prevented. When the magnet 3 is deenergized at the end of the exposure period, the force acting on wheel 8 can overcome the spring 4, and pawl 2 is forced back to allow pin 6 to move out of groove 5, and so the running-down is completed. When the shutter is re-tensioned, wheel 8 is turned in the direction opposite to the arrow until pin 6 once more latches into groove 5, where it is retained by spring 4.
