Abstract

1,259,495. Electromagnet shutter control. PENTACON DRESDEN KAMERA UND KINOWERKE VEB. March 11, 1969, No.12701/69. Heading G2A. A lever 2 is pivoted at 1 to control the operation of a shutter opening member 7 and a shutter closing member 8, the lever being biased into the initial position, shown in full outline, by a spring 6, and being biased into the shutter holding position, shown in broken outline by the attraction between an electromagnet 5 and a permanent magnet 4. At the end of the exposure period, as determined by a timing circuit sensitive to ambient illumination, the polarity of the electromagnet is reversed to repel the permanent magnet 4. In the rest position, member 8 is held by a pawl (11) Fig.2 (not shown). Upon movement of member 7 a pin (12) contacts the pawl (11) so that member 8 is blocked by lever 2. The electromagnet preferably has two windings, wound in opposite directions, which can be switched in and out alternately by transistors (14), (15), Fig.3 (not shown). In an alternative arrangement, Fig.4 (not shown), the armature consists of an electromagnet having an armature (18) and a fixed electromagnet (19) connected to the control circuitry.
