Abstract
1,109,506. Transistor pulse circuits. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 23 July, 1965 [28 July, 1964], No. 30029/64. Heading H3T. A pulse is transmitted by a transmission or delay line from the output of a first transistor to the input of a second, the latter, together with associated resistors, providing a correct termination and a power supply for the first transistor. When transistor T1 is conducting the voltage at the lower end of R4 is such that T2 is cut off. When an input pulse cuts off T1, T2 conducts and its base emitter impedance together with that of the associated resistors correctly terminates the line. R3 and R4 in parallel are equal to twice the line impedance so that at the end of the pulse, when T2 cuts off, the mismatch is not large. The line may be coaxial, a twisted pair or a lumped delay line.
