To damp oscillatory currents in a transmission line 11a, 11b following transmission of a pulse from transformer winding 12, an impedance 13a, 13b shunted by a transistor 14a, 14b is in series with each line conductor. The transistors short the impedances when a pulse of a given polarity and exceeding a certain amplitude is emitted by the transformer, all other pulses being damped rapidly by the impedances.
