Abstract
In a process for inhibiting bacterial corrosion of mineral oil production plants, an alkylguanidinium compound of the general formula <FORM:1109431/C6-C7/1> in which R1 represents an alkyl, aralkyl or alkylaryl group having 8-22 carbon atoms, R2 represents H or an alkyl, aralkyl or alkylaryl group having up to 18 carbon atoms and HX represents a mineral or organic acid, is added to the water which is injected into oil or gas layers. The acid HX may be HCl, H2SO4, HNO3, H2CO3, HCOOH or CH3COOH. The alkyl guanidinium compounds may be used in concentrations of 6 micrograms per ml. They may be used in combination with bactericidal quaternary ammonium or phosphonium compounds, or with fat alkyl-diamine salts. Specific examples of alkylguanidinium compounds and of compounds which may be used with them are given.ALSO:In a process for inhibiting bacterial corrosion of mineral oil production plants, an alkylguanidinium compound of the general formula:- <FORM:1109431/A5-A6/1> in which R1 represents an alkyl, aralkyl or alkylaryl group having 8-22 carbon atoms, R2 represents H or an alkyl, aralkyl or alkylaryl group having up to 18 carbon atoms and HX represents a mineral or organic acid, is added to the water which is injected into oil or gas layers. The acid HX may be HCl, H2SO4, HNO3, H2CO3, HCOOH or CH3COOH. The alkylguanidinium compounds may be used in concentrations of 6 micrograms per ml.
