Abstract

1,109,099. Moulding confectionery. PETER RABBIT CANDIES Inc. 2 Aug., 1966, No. 34588/66. Heading B5A. An apparatus for moulding confection bodies comprises a horizontal table 16 fitted longitudinally with an endless conveyer 46, 47, pressure units 72 mounted on and on opposite sides of the supporting table and a mould assembly 15 which can be positioned on the conveyer; the moulds, which are vertical and open sideways, are kept closed by the pressure units. The apparatus shown comprises a filling section where the moulds are filled from vessel 63 via pipes 64 and 65, a vibrating section 18, a cooling section 19 and an unloading section 20. A conveyer 21 with heating means for returning the mould to the start may also be included. Fingers 48, 49 on the sprocket chains 46, 47 of the conveyer engage with notches 40, 40<SP>1</SP> on the underpart of the mould to drive it through the filling, vibration, cooling and unloading sections. The mould per se forms the subject-matter of Specification 1,109,100.
