Abstract

1,107,023. Pipe fittings. MARLEY TILE CO. Ltd. 7 Oct., 1966 [11 Oct., 1965], No. 43071/65. -Heading F2G. A soil pipe fitting comprises a first part 1 which receives a second part 2 in an end thereof, the second part being solvent welded or cemented into the first part. The second part 2 is provided with two annular walls 6, 7 which enclose an annular space 11 into the upper end of which a boss 14 for a waste pipe connection opens. The fitting has an unobstructed passage 12 with which the annular space 11 communicates through an opening 13. The opening 13 is of larger area than the area of the cross-section of the waste pipe connection so that when the fitting is used in a vertical stack pipe directly below a W.C. branch unit (Fig. 2, not shown) the opening and hence the waste pipe connection cannot be blocked. A waste pipe branch unit may also be mounted directly above the fitting (Fig. 3, not shown). The two parts 1, 2 may be injection moulded. A portion 9 of the part 2 is of greater diameter than the socket portion 8 to receive an 0-ring seal.
