[Also in Divisions E1 and H2] In a mineral-mining installation in which a mining machine and a following floor-cleaning device are moved by separate haulage systems along a conveyer to cut and load mineral into the conveyer, the distance between the machine and the device is kept within predetermined limits by electrical circuits, which circuits permit of an oscillatory signal being transmitted from the machine for receipt by and comparison against a standard signal by a receiving circuit on the device and the utilization of any signal comparison differences by the circuit to appropriately control operation of the haulage means of the floor-cleaning device to restore or maintain the required distance stands between the device and the machine. The circuits may additionally allow of measuring of the distance of the last advanced roof support rearwards of the device from the device and control the advance of the next roof support to be reset when this distance exceeds a standard with resultant advance of the conveyer.
