Abstract
1430607 Automatic electric control OUTOKUMPU OY 3 Aug 1973 [4 Aug 1972] 37043/73 Heading G3N A process control system comprises a data processing machine and an operator control station connected in parallel so as to receive data signals from the process concurrently, and to deliver control signals to it. The control station has switches for displaying selected data and associated control devices. In an example, an ore concentration flotation process is controlled by signals on a line 4 connected to the outputs of a data processor 1 and an operator control station 2. Signals representing measured process parameters are fed on line 3 to both the processor 1 and the station 2, and signals also pass between the processor 1 and the station 2 on a line 5. The station 2 includes a push-button panel and display units. The control signals may be characterized by pulse width modulation, or may be numerically significant pulse trains. The process may be controlled directly by an operator from station 2 in the event of breakdown of the data processor 1.
