A stair tread covering comprises a non- metallic tile like sheet 15 preferably of plastics or fibrous material having a main portion with a planar lower surface and with one edge shaped such that it is approximately semi-circular in cross section. A narrow peripheral strip may extend from the semi circular portion, to lie parallel or inwardly inclined to the top surface.
