Abstract

[Also in Division H3] To limit the short circuit current in an A.C. network a transductor is employed. whose magnetisation is decreased with increase in line current. An additional winding 10R &c. in which currents induced on short circuit automatically weaken D.C. control field from windings 6 may be employed. The control current Is may be fed from a controlled rectifier bridge 15, (Fig. 4, not shown), which is shunted, by another controlled rectifier or diode 17 under short circuit conditions, a,capacitor 19 forming with windings 13, 14 an oscillatory circuit. The rectifier 17 may be omitted and the controlled rectifiers 15 arranged for inverted operation.
