Abstract

1,049,788. Rectifying. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Sept. 11, 1963 [Sept. 11, 1962], No. 34698/62. Heading H2F. In a polyphase bridge rectifying arrangement, each phase line is connected to oppositely poled rectifiers (e.g. 7a, 7b) through a pair of windings (10a, 10b) on a saturable magnetic core provided with a D.C. control winding (16). The control current may be common to all the phases of the supply. The windings are wound so that current through either rectifier 7a or 7b produces the same direction of flux in the core, this being the same as the direction of the flux of the control winding. Variation of the control current is used to " trim " the output voltage.
