Abstract
1,104,703. Gear pumps and motors. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. March 4, 1965 [March 5, 1964], No. 9203/65. Heading F1F. A hydraulic gear pump (or motor) includes on both sides of intermeshing gears 17, 18, Fig. 1, one piece bearing blocks 15, 16 and between the bearing block 16 and the housing cover 11 a balancing member 13 whose face adjacent the cover is divided by a sealing-ring 27 into a lowpressure area within the ring and a high-pressure area outside the ring with the high-pressure being communicated thereto past a sealing-ring 32 surrounding the block 16 and through the clearance between the block 16 and the inner periphery 14 of the housing 10. Low-pressure is transmitted to the faces of the blocks 15, 16 remote from the gears through a bore 20 through which the driven shaft 22 passes, a groove 25 in block 16, a bore 29 in a shaft 21 and a groove 30 in block 15. A recess 38, Fig. 3, in the periphery of block 16 is open to high-pressure and a recess 36 sealed by a sealing element 37 to low-pressure. Highpressure in the clearance and recess 38 presses the element 37 sealingly against periphery 14. The recesses 36, 38, the positioning of the sealing element 37 and the shape and area of the face of the balancing member 13 outside of the sealing- ring 27 permit the equalization of tilting moments that occur on the bearings and gears. In a modified embodiment, the sealing-ring 32 surrounding the block 16 is replaced by a ring mounted in a groove whose axial distance from the gears 17, 18 varies around the periphery of the block, being a maximum at the low-pressure side of the pump (or motor) and a minimum at the high-pressure side thereof.
