Abstract

1,103,812. Cooling coated articles. M. KEGEL. 10 May, 1966, No. 20652/66. Heading F4H. Apparatus for cooling coated articles 8 com prises a radiation permeable conveyer belt 7, blackened aluminium structures 6 of honeycomb form on either side of the belt, covering layers 21 on the sides of structures 6 remote from the belt, and a blackened aluminium plate 9 beneath the belt. Cooling coils 2, 3 are provided adjacent layers 21 and beneath plate 9 respectively, and an aluminium reflector 1 is provided above the belt. Air is drawn over coils 3 by fans which supply the cool air to nozzles arranged at the inlet and outlet of the apparatus to provide air curtains therefor (Fig. 4, not shown). The supply of coolant, e.g. ammonia, to each of coils 2, 3 is regulated independently. Drains 4 are provided for condensate and the apparatus is provided with foamed plastic insulation 11. The articles 8 may be coated with chocolate, icing or grease.
