Abstract

1,102,741. Friction gearing. BORGS FABRIKS A.B. 11 May, 1965 [11 May, 1964], No. 19821/65. Heading F2Q. [Also in Division B7] Relates to friction gearing for propelling trucks along rails in a conveyer system (see Division B7). A truck 1, Figs. 1 and 2 is propelled along the rails 11 by means of frictional contact between a rotating shaft 4 parallel to the rails and a drive wheel 2 mounted on a vertical shaft on the truck, which shaft is disposed radially of the drive shaft 4. The wheel 2 is normally maintained with its axis at an angle of 45 degrees to the axis of the shaft 4 by a torsion spring 3 fixed between a flange 6, on a stem 28 carrying wheel, and the truck. The flange has pivoted thereto at 7, push rods 8 passing through the truck frame and terminating in bumpers 10. When the rods are pushed or pulled by engagement between trucks or by guides 16, the wheel axis is adjusted relative to the shaft 4 to decelerate or stop the truck. In a modification the wheel shaft has wings to engage fixed cams. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 963,154.
