Chucks.-In holding heavy work in the jaws of a chuck, the work is provided with projections f, g, which engage recesses in the jaws, or vice versa, and an additional projection f<2> is provided for driving purposes. The projections and recesses are tapered to ensure a wedging action, or may be conical. The drive may be effected by a plate c secured to the side of the chuck.
