Abstract

Polyvinyl resins are plasticized with glyceryl triisobutyrate Specified polymers are PVC, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer and polyvinylacetate. From 15-60 parts of plasticizer are added per 100 parts of resin. There may be added a secondary plasticizer, e.g. butyl benzyl phthalate, benzyl 2-ethylhexyl phthalate, di-2-ethylbutyl phthalate, a hexanol phthalate or a mixed phthalate of 2-ethylbutanol and another hexanol. Tests are made on a mixture of PVC, glyceryl triisobutyrate and titanium dioxide.
