Abstract

110,244. Henkes, C. C. June 12, 1917. Trolly heads for electric railway and tramway systems are provided with an auxiliary rear trolly wheel A<2> capable of movement about vertical and horizontal axes independently of the main trolly wheel A<1>. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the rear-wheel arm J is carried by a pin K movable about an horizontal axis in the socket L of the collar S adapted to move with the spindle Q about a vertical axis in the socket R. The spring M keeps the rear wheel pressed against the conductor. The trolly wheels A<1>, A<2> are carried by side guards C, Fig. 3, provided with a circular flange E, of a diameter greater than the diameter of the wheels, which can rotate freely in a seating F situated in a plane intermediate the axis and bottom edge of the wheel.
