Abstract

1,102,404. Screwdrivers. G. K. N. SCREWS & FASTENERS Ltd. 15 Feb., 1965 [29 Feb., 1964], No. 8586/64. Addition to 1,006,509. Heading B4W. A driving tool 48 adapted for use with the recessed head screw fastener of the parent Specification (see Division F2), comprises a central core 50 having wings 51 radiating therefrom, the side faces 54, 55 of the wings being substantially parallel with the central longitudinal axis of the tool but slightly asymmetrical in relation to associated vertical planes M1-M1 and M2-M2 passing through the wings and lying medially between the two side faces thereof. Flutes 53 having corner angles of approximately 90 degrees are formed between adjacent wings 51. The tool when inserted in the fastener recess of the parent Specification provides a clearance of between 0À0010 inches and 0À0005 inches. The driving face 54 of each wing is inclined at an angle of about 20<SP>1</SP> of a degree towards the associated vertical medial plane M1-M1 or M2-M2, the fastener removing face 55 being inclined at an angle of about 2 degrees to said plane.
