Abstract

The invention comprises the acid addition salts of the compound <FORM:1102374/C2/1> The compound is prepared in accordance with the reaction scheme <FORM:1102374/C2/2> The reactants employed in each of the stages are: (I) an agent capable of blocking an amino group; (II) a hydrocarbyl sulphonyl chloride; (III) an alkali metal S-salt of a hydrocarbyl thiocarboxylic acid; (IV) an anhydrous acid; and (V) an acidic or basic medium providing hydrolytic conditions. The product may be obtained as a salt from which the free base may be obtained conventionally.
