Vulcanizing-materials.-A vulcanization accelerator consists of caustic alkali (sodium or potassium hydroxide) in conjunction with quicklime, glycerol, glycol, or other finely divided mineral compound which is inert towards the alkali or organic compound which without decomposition absorbs or dissolves the alkali to produce a homogeneous mass.
