Abstract

1,100,184. Counting-apparatus; read-out. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGSG.m.b.H. 28 May, 1965, No. 22831/65. Headings G4D and G4H. The wheels of a counter carry stepped cams 11-14 so that at the end of a measuring operation the counter can be read by sensing racks 21-24, the differential movements of which operate appropriate combinations of levers, such as 110, bearing permanent magnets whereby the reading of the counter is transferred in binarycoded decimal form over reed contacts such as 133 to a computer. A continuously operating motor 1 stresses a spring 5 so that an incoming pulse to magnet 25 releases pinion 7 which makes a single rotation. At the end of a measuring period a motor 30 moves carriage 20 towards the counter, carrying along the sensing racks until the associated pawls 42 trip as the racks contact cams 11-14. After read-out the carriage 20 is returned and the counter is restored by its grooved spindle 18.
