Abstract

1,099,944. Wringers. PASSAT MASCHINEMBAU Gm.b.H. June 16, 1965 [June 18, 1964; Feb. 2, 1965; Feb. 4, 1965], No. 25409/ 65. Heading D1A. [Also in Division F2] Wringing apparatus comprises at least two rollers one of which has a resilient periphery and has a space inside it for a pressure medium; such as compressed air. As shown in figure 2 the upper roller 4 has a rigid outer sheath 4<SP>1</SP> of a material of good thermal conductivity. The lower roller 7 is constructed of tyre-like members 7<SP>1</SP> which are resilient and contain compressed air. End plates 12 are provided to prevent axial movement when a load is applied. In further embodiments (not shown) the compressed air may be admitted to a single volume in the roller or to a continuous spiral tube inside the resilient roller. Two resilient rollers may be provided above or below a rigid roller. The resilient roller may be supported on auxiliary rollers and loading and unloading conveyor belts may be provided.
