[Also in Division E1] A number of polygonal, e.g. square, panels (1) of polished or anodized aluminium, stainless steel or plastics, are brought together edge to edge and secured by a plurality of elongated, flexible, inextensible strips (3) connected to the panel by means of adhesive coverings (2) along the edges of the panels. Alternatively, a single sheet may be applied to the whole assembly of panels. The assembly may be fixed by adhesive applied to the back of the strips or sheet to a wall or other surface, and can be bent at the joints for going round corners. The panels are polished to give a streaky or striped effect with a predominant direction, and are arranged so that these directions cross each other.
