1,099,413. Discharge lamps. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. Oct. 12, 1965 [Oct. 12, 1964], No. 43306/65. Heading H1D. In a hollow cathode discharge lamp, suitable for use in spectroscopic analysis, the annular anode 3 is supported adjacent, but axially spaced from, the open end of the hollow cylindrical cathode 2 by being seated upon an internal recess 17 in a sheath 13 of insulating material which surrounds and extends from the cathode. The cathode may be of, contain, or be coated with, the metal for examination, and the filling is of neon at 0À5 to 15 torr.
