Abstract

1,099,388. Fluid-pressure intensifiers, compressors, rotary pumps. HYDROTROLE Ltd. June 17, 1966 [Sept. 22, 1965], No.40361/65. Headings F1F, F1N and F1P. A fluid-pressure intensifier comprises four differential pistons 15a, 15b only two of which are shown in Fig. 1 in stepped bores 20a, 20b arranged round and parallel to the axis of a driven eccentric rotor 13 which sequentially pressurizes fluid in four compartments 12a separated by radial slidable abutment vanes 14 Fig. 2 and in open communication with the large diameter end 20a of an associated bore and also connected through a non-return valve 17a, a conduit 24 and a non- return valve 25 to the smaller diameter end 20b of the bore from which fluid at the intensified pressure is discharged past a non-return valve 23 to an outlet 22. The four radial vanes 14 slide in slots 19 and bear at their inner ends on the outer vane 13a of a ball bearing mounted on the eccentric 18a, and each compartment so formed has an automatic inlet valve 16. The length of each piston head 15a is less than that a bore 20a and during the forward stroke of a piston fluid behind it is forced through a passage 21 into the bore space behind the remaining pistons which are on their suction strokes.
