Abstract

1,099,338. Pneumatic tyres. GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO. Aug. 11, 1966 [Aug. 25, 1965], No. 35983/66. Heading B7C. A pneumatic tyre including axial tread ribs 14 is strengthened in the shoulder regions by projections 22 each forming a smooth continuation of the associated groove bottom 16 and of a height less than that of the ribs 14. Further projections 18 extending in opposite directions from the tyre mid-plane stiffen the central region of the tread. The groove sidewalls 30 are divergent at least adjacent the projections 22.
