1,217,076. Pneumatic tyre tread. CONTINENTAL GUMMI-WERKE A.G. 30 May, 1968 [29 June, 1967], No. 25888/68. Heading B7C. A tread surface for a pneumatic tyre consists in the crown region of a number of circumferentially extending ribs 1 separated by grooves 7 which have an asymmetrical zig-zag shape such that all the straight wall portions 8, 9, 10, 11 have different lengths. Each groove 7 has the intersection of its wall and base radiused. In the region of each shoulder there are parallelsided zig-zag grooves 5 which run circumferentially. Adjacent " pitches," such as T and T<SP>1</SP>, may differ in length.
