Abstract
1,099,047. Endless conveyers. SOVEX Ltd. Oct. 18, 1966 [Nov. 11, 1965], No. 47895/65. Heading B8A. Castor wheels 1, 1, of a truck conveyed by a carrier 3 of an endless elevator conveyer, are automatically engaged by members 15, 16 to maintain the wheels in alignment in readiness for discharge of the truck. The conveyer carriers are carried by an endless chain 6, past loading stations 8 and unloading stations 7. Platforms 9 for fixed wider track wheels (not shown) of the truck, and which also carry platforms 12 for the castor wheels, are swung about pivots 11 from the position shown in dot-dash lines in Fig. 2 (not shown) to receive the trucks prior to loading, and reversely upon discharge from the conveyer. The trucks are picked up from, or deposited on, the platforms 9, 12 by the conveyer carriers 3. The members 15, 16 are normally urged. by a spring unit 24 into the position shown in full lines. As the carrier. comes, into, the loading. position, the members 15, 16 are swung inwardly by the action of portions .28 of the mem-. begs 15 engaging rollers. 32 carried by the platforms 12. The members 15, 16 may be. replaced by magnets.
