The inlet and exhaust valves 4, 5 are situated in spherical portions 6, 7 of the combustion chamber the centres of which are on the valve axes. The spherical portions merge into cylindrical portions 8, 9, at phases through the maximum open portions of the valve heads. 1,098,821. Carburetters. PETROL INJECTION Ltd. and H.E. Jackson. [Also in Division F2] A fuel metering valve comprises a tubular member 1, rotatable in a sleeve 6, a V-shaped cross-section slot 2 in the member 1 co-operating with a rectangular slot 4 in the sleeve to provide a variable metering orifice. The metering valve forms part of the fuel metering system described in Specifications 1, 098, 823 and 1, 098, 824.
