Abstract
1,097,488. Skip hoists. D. DOMENIGHETTI. Jan. 22, 1966, No. 3009/66. Heading B8H. A skip hoist arrangement comprises a single winch 5 connected to two skips 2, 12 by a towing rope 6, and a single railway track 1 which in the zone intermediate its ends branches to form two tracks 16, 17 extending in a common vertical plane, the junctions 18, 19 of the two tracks being provided with guide blades adapted to rotate about horizontal axes. The said guide blades are pivotally mounted such that one skip passing the junction 18 or 19 is directed into or from one of the two tracks 16, 17, while the other skip is directed in the opposite direction into or from the other of the tracks 16, 17. The blades are connected through a linkage system, Fig. 6 (not shown), to an arm engageable by a cam roller on one of the skips, for operation thereof. The towing rope 6 exerts a double pull on each skip by passing around vertical sheaves 9 on each side of the skip and around horizontal sheaves 8 on the underside of the skip. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 (not shown) the rope (6) passes around a single vertical sheave carried by a bar mounted on the front of the skip. Rollers on the ends of the bar engage the rails to stabilize the bar.
