Abstract

A film-coating material or adhesive contains 5 to 40 parts by weight of a terpene resin per 100 parts of an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolyme and paraffin wax, the proportion of the copolymer to the wax being between 60:40 to 40:60. The terpene resin has a softening point (ring and ball) of 100 DEG to 125 DEG C. In the examples tert-butylhydroxyanisole is incorporated as stabilizer. The material is used to coat polyethylene terepthalate films and adhere said films to paper.ALSO:A film-coating material comprises 5 to 40 parts by weight of a terepene resin per 100 parts of a mixture of an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer and paraffin wax, the proportion of the copolymer to the wax being between 60:40 and 40:60. In the examples polyethylene terephthalate films are coated with the composition.
