A water-closet bowl or like structure is associated with an aerosol spray bomb 13 for disinfectant or deodorant with a nozzle release valve 12 on a support 7 in or near to the bowl 1, and control means actuated by rotation of a seat 2 or cover 3 to open and close the valve 12 and so spray fluid from a nozzle into the vicinity of the bowl 1. In one form (Fig. 2) the control means comprises cams 9, 8 on the seat 2, and cover 3, respectively and a hinged arm 10 movable thereby, whereas in another form (Fig. 4) it comprises levers 25, 24 rotatably mounted on the bowl 1 operatively to engage the valve 12, and connecting arms 23, 22 pivoted at one end to the levers 25, 24 and at the other end to crank arms 19, 18 on the seat 2 and cover 3. In a further form the control means comprises cams 9, 8 on the seat 2 and cover 3, respectively, a first hinged arm movable by the cams 9, 8 and a flexible cable in a bowden cable tube between it and a second hinged arm directly to engage the release valve 12. In a still further form (Fig. 7) the bomb 13 is mounted in a frame 42 and pins 40, 41 on the seat 2 and cover 3 on operation thereof move the frame 42, so that the valve 12 contacts a projection 45 on the fixed support 7. In an additional modification flexible cables wind. around rounded surfaces on the seat 2 and cover 3, to which they are secured, on rotation thereof, slidably to move respective guide pieces (in guideways) to which each one extends through a bowden cable tube adjacent the bomb support so that a boss on it rocks a bell-crank lever, an arm of which then engages the valve 12. A spring 15 absorbs excess movement applied to the valve 12.
