Pulping-engines.-Pulp-washing as described in the parent Specification is carried out in a Hollander, washing, or beating engine by providing the washing drum c with a number of sprinkler pipes j<2>, the contaminated fluid being drained away at the open side of the drum through an outlet k leading to a waste pipe l. A felt or leather band m prevents the escape of fluid between the drum and a flange on the side of the trough b'.
