Abstract
1095854 Winding fabrics BRUCKNERTROCKENTECHNIK KOMM GES 18 Jan 1966 [20 Jan 1965] 2230/66 Index B8M 2H A device for continuously winding a knitted fabric web 3 which runs over the exit roller 1 of a treating machine and after completion of a roll 21 is separated by a cutter 16 and if further feed continues is wound onto a new winding core 23, Fig. 5, is characterized in that immediately behind the roller 1 there is provided on each side of the machine an obliquely rising guide track for the roll 21 being formed, the guide track comprising a fixed part 5 adjacent the roller 1 and a part 8 movable relative to the part 5 with the finished roll thereon so that the part 5 is accessible for the core 23 and the web 3 can be separated in the zone between the roller 1 and the finished roll 21. The part 5 is mounted on a carrier 6 adjustably mounted on a rod 7 fixed to a frame 4 on which the roller 1 is mounted. The part 8 is mounted on a carrier 9 adjustably mounted on two bars 10 held in a support 11 movable along a rod 12 slightly inclined to the vertical. A removal surface 13 is carried by a support 14 adjustably mounted on rods 15. The roll 21 is driven by contact with the roller 1. When the roll 21 has reached the required size the part 8 with the core 20 of the roll 21 lying thereon is moved downwards by a control (not shown) to the position of Fig. 3 (not shown). A tension roller 18, driven at a higher speed than the roller 1 but in the same direction, stretches the web 3 lying between the roller 1 and the roll 21. Two pistons 17 at the sides of the roller 1 are given an impulse to cause the cutter 16, comprising an electrically heated filament, to cut the web 3. The core 20 is deposited on the surface 13 and slides to the position of Fig.4 (not shown). The carrier 9 contacts a switch 19 which reverses the drive to return the part 8. The carrier 6, Fig.5, is provided with means to store and deliver the new core 23 whilst the roll 21 is being removed. These means comprise a catch 24 pivoted at 25 and normally held in a raised position by a lever 27 lying against a pin 29 on the carrier 9. When the carrier 9 descends the pin 29 descends and the lever 27 pivots downwardly so that, under its own weight or a spring, the catch 24 pivots to the dotted line position and the core 23 slides down onto the part 5. The roller 23 may comprise a wooden core having disposed thereon a cardboard roller 23a provided on both sides with an adhesive band to grip the cut end of the web 3. The winding continues on the core 23 on the part 5 whilst the part 8 is returning.
