1,094,555. Non-refillable bottles. G. RADISSON. Nov. 22, 1966 [Nov. 23, 1965], No. 52325/66. Heading B8D. A tamper-proof stopper consists of a cylindrical member 1 fitting within the bottle neck as shown and containing a movable pouring tube 9, a heavy ball 8, and a valve 3, the opposed surfaces of the tube and valve being dished at 11 and 7 such that when the bottle is inverted the valve 3 is open but when it is tilted the ball moves under gravity, sideways from its axial location to the position shown in Fig. 4 to maintain the valve in its closed position by forcing the valve and tube apart. Thus the bottle cannot be filled when inclined and, when inverted, any attempt to fill it by the pressure inside the bottle being reduced below the pressure of the supplied liquid will fail because the pressure difference will raise the valve to closed position against gravity. The tube 9 has a zig-zag liquid path including upper and lower lateral ports 15, 14 the ports in each level being separated by thin webs which rupture readily if any attempt be made to pull on the tube 9 to remove the stopper or to introduce an implement into the stopper.
