Abstract

1,094,287. Magnetic amplifiers. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 13, 1966 [April 15, 1965], No. 16215/66. Heading H3B. An auto-self-excited transductor comprises a closed magnetic core having the two main windings on opposed parts and a shunt in the form of a plate extending between opposed parts of the core intermediate to the windings, the distance between the shunt and the core being adjustable. In one embodiment the shunt is arranged for simple movement towards and away from the core, whereas in Fig. 3 it is moved parallel to the core, bevelled surfaces on the core and shunt having a separation dependent upon the relative vertical positions of the parts. The device may be connected for operation as either a parallel or a full-wave rectifying transductor and is supplied from a sinusoidal or square-wave A.C. source. A circuit is also shown in which the rectifiers in series with the main windings are transistors controlled to conduct alternately.
