Abstract

1,094,003. Air blast switches. VSESOIUZNY ELEKTROTEKHNICHESKY INSTITUT im. LENINA. Sept. 3, 1965, No. 37830/65. Heading H2B. An air blast switch comprises a pair of fixed tubular contacts B connectable together by a movable contact (not shown), the hollow interiors of contacts B each being connectable to atmosphere by way of an exhaust blast valve 7, 14 at least one of the blast valves being provided with a fluid actuator 6 and the blast valves being mechanically interconnected. To open the valves compressed air is fed to a line 1, this opens a stop valve 2 and closes a vent 3 so that compressed air is fed through a line 5 to the fluid actuator opening valve 7 directly and valve 14 through a linkage 10, 12, 13. After a short while sufficient air leaks through a passage 16 to reclose the stop valve 2 and open vent 3, the exhaust valves thus being reclosed.
