A process for the production of a resinimpregnated laminate comprises forming an assembly of one or more core sheets impregnated with a phenol-formaldehyde, urea-formaldehyde or phenol-urea-formaldehyde resin, an intermediate sheet or layer comprising melamineurea-formaldehyde resin in which the molar proportion of urea exceeds that of melamine and an outer protective sheet of a film-forming fluorine-containing organic polymer, and curing the assembly under heat and pressure. Specified fluorine containing polymers are polyvinyl fluoride, polyvinylidene fluoride, polytrifluorochloroethylene and polytetrafluoroethylene. Ultra-violet absorbers may be incorporated in this layer as may heat stabilizers. The melamine-urea-formaldehyde layer may be a decorated paper. The core sheets are preferably of paper.
