Abstract

1,092,800. Dry shavers. BRAUN A.G. Nov. 1, 1966 [Nov. 4, 1965], No. 49127/66. Heading B4B. In an electric dry shaver having a carrier for rotary blades 31, the carrier has mounted thereon a woollen brush 1<1> which, when the carrier is rotated, sweeps over a recess 2<1>a in a circular plate 21 of plastics material, forming one pole element, and contacts a lug 4<1>a of a metallic frame 41 forming the other pole element so that a charge separation, and thus an electric field, is produced between the pole elements and particles of hair produced during shaving are collected on the plate 2<1>. In a modification, the blade carrier (3), Fig. 1 (not shown), is reciprocated and the carrier and the metallic frame (4) are each provided with an insulating layer (5). In both constructions, the plate forming one pole element may be partially metallized and may also be provided with an adhesive layer. Moreover, this plate may be detachably mounted.
