Abstract

1,092,496. Break-spinning apparatus. VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY. July 21, 1966 [March 11, 1966], No. 32859/66. Heading D1D. In break-spinning using a spinning-chamber operating under reduced pressure, to secure the yarn-end when spinning is interrupted and the chamber is at rest, a clamping-element is arranged at the exit of the channel through which the spun yarn is withdrawn, the position of the element depending upon the pressure in the chamber. In Fig. 1, yarn is withdrawn from the spinning chamber through a channel 4. A two-armed pivoted lever is urged by a spring 9 so that the end 6 tends to move to clamp the yarn against a fixed part 8. The other end of the lever is connected to a piston or a diaphragm 11 in a cylinder pneumatically connected to the space inside the spinning- cham'ber 13. When the chamber is rotating, reduced pressure develops in the chamber by air escaping centrifugally through openings 15. By the connexion with the cylinder, reduced pressure also exists in the cylinder so that the piston is retained in the position shown whereby the element is held off the yarn against the pressure of spring 9. When the chamber stops rotating, atmospheric pressure is restored in the chamber, so that the piston moves to the right, allowing the lever to pivot and clamp the yarn. In another form, Fig. 3, not shown, the piston itself acts as the clamping-element and is subject to the attraction of a magnet which also acts as the fixed part against which the yarn is clamped.
