Abstract

[Also in Division G5] An optical display device comprises a front plate 1 which is drilled to take the front ends of bunches of fibres 2 forming a letter, figure or other symbol, the rear ends of each bunch being secured in a ferrule fixed to a block 5 containing a source of illumination. In an example, ten groups of such fibres are provided for displaying the digits 0-9 and ten lamps are provided in block 5. The light sources may be elongated in which case the rear ends of each group of fibres is elongated to correspond therewith.
