Abstract
1,090,467. Moulding tongued-and-grooved plaster panels. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 13, 1966 [June 25, 1965], No. 27052/65. Heading B5A. In a glass lined mould assembly for the dilute slurry casting of a plurality of fair-faced, tongued-and-grooved plaster panels, greater facility of accurate mould assembly is obtained by securing the mould side wall glass lining sheets 1, by adhesive, within recesses in metal backing plates 2 with the free face of the sheet flush with the free ends 4a of the walls 2b of the recesses whereby the mould is assembled with the backing plate 2 bolted to mould supports 3, forming a mould box and in abutment with stainless steel or chrome-plated metal profiling strips 4 so that dimensional accuracy is obtained by machining of the mould parts and the necessity for special mould assembly techniques is avoided. The back surface of the glass sheet may be etched with hydrofluoric acid to improve the adhesion thereof to the metal backing plate.
